The Department of English Linguistics, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur organized a webinar on the 25th of May 2022, entitled “Conquering Fallacies: Critical Thinking in Linguistics”. The speakers of the webinar included Dr. Muhammad Akbar Sajid, assistant professor at the Department of English, NUML, Multan Campus, and Dr. Muhammad Din, assistant professor at the Department of English, Govt. Post-Graduate College, Burewala. Ms. Aisha Ilyas, associate lecturer at the Department of English Linguistics, IUB was the focal person of the webinar. The sessions were chaired by Dr. Shahid Nawaz, assistant professor at the department of English Linguistics, IUB. After the talks of the speakers Dr. Riaz Hussain, Head, Department of English Linguistics, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur gave concluding remarks. He stressed the importance of conquering fallacies with the help of better cognitive strategies.  The webinar was attended by the ELT teachers and students from different institutes in Southern Punjab.
