Research in Action
The Department’s Research Exhibitions bring together emerging scholars from different areas of English Linguistics. Students are encouraged to identify meaningful research questions, engage with relevant literature, collect and analyse data, and present their findings in clear and accessible formats.
The exhibitions have featured research connected with contemporary and interdisciplinary areas, including Language and Artificial Intelligence, English Language Teaching, Corpus Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, Discourse Studies, Language and Culture, Digital Communication, and Eco-Geo-Linguistics. Such themes reflect the Department’s commitment to connecting linguistic scholarship with emerging global challenges and real-world applications.

Research Exhibitions provide an important opportunity for undergraduate students to experience the academic research process at an early stage of their university education. Research Exhibition 2026
The 3rd Research Exhibition of the Department of English Linguistics was held on 16 June 2026 at the Hazrat Khawaja Farid Auditorium, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
The exhibition brought together 110 BS English Linguistics researchers, who presented 22 research posters under the guidance of 22 faculty members. The research projects reflected the diversity and contemporary relevance of linguistic inquiry, with notable thematic areas including Language & AI and Eco-Geo-Linguistics.
The exhibition provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their research abilities, interact with faculty and fellow researchers, and share their academic work with a wider audience. The event also reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to developing a strong research-oriented academic environment from the undergraduate level.
Building a Research Culture
Research Exhibitions are an integral part of the Department’s continuing efforts to nurture young researchers and future scholars. They complement seminars, conferences, workshops, research projects, and other academic activities conducted by the Department throughout the year.
